Purpose
The Clan Ramsay Genealogy project’s mission is to
foster
the spirit of kinship and pride existing among all who have Ramsay
ancestry, regardless of spelling. Clan family names
include: Ramsay, Ramsey,
Dalhousie, Ramsay of Bamff, Ramsay of Balmain, Maule, Brecheen, and
Brechin.
The genealogist established the clan genealogical database in 1997 to
provide
a clearinghouse for Ramsay family data and history. Data
submitted
by clan members is entered into a database, however, the information is
not
verified by the genealogist. Verification of the data is the
responsibility
of the submitter.
The Clan Ramsay database was created using The Master
Genealogist, Wholly Genes, Inc.; 5144 Flowertuft Court, Columbia,
Maryland 21044; 410-715-2260.

Privacy
Any data submitted will be shared with other
researchers
upon request, however, no commercial use of the data will be made.
How to Participate
Researchers may participate in the Clan Ramsay
genealogical database project by providing information in any format,
but most researchers submit data on family group sheets, pedigree
charts or via IBM format GEDCOM files. An important element is
information on collateral lines as well
as principal Ramsay lineage. The more marriage links,
geographical location
data, and dates provided, the better the chance of making a connection
with
the project data. Documentation of cited events is encouraged.
The genealogist requests corrected or additional information
be
sent, whenever found, so the Clan database can be as accurate as
possible.
Although the genealogical database is a project of Clan
Ramsay
of North America, participation in it does not constitute
membership
in Clan Ramsay.
